The Caribbean Development Bank’s Office of Independent Evaluation (OIE) is pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural Caribbean Evaluation Space. Discover a space where Caribbean perspectives and socio-political realities drive the future of evaluation
This biennial event, rotating across Caribbean countries, is intended to become a flagship regional platform to foster learning, exchange, and networks on evaluation to strengthen evidence-informed policymaking. The aim is to “cultivate a generation of Caribbean leaders in evaluation” and in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
The conference is aligned with regional priorities as the Caribbean faces challenges in establishing and/or maintaining the capacities for effective evaluation and M&E systems. In the past, there have been numerous initiatives targeting the broader Latin-America and Caribbean region, though mostly within Latin America, hence presenting an opportune time for a Caribbean focused initiative. Caribbean Evaluation Space” is an immersive, purposeful environment for evaluation and M&E professionals which prioritises Caribbean perspectives, knowledge systems, and socio-political realities.
Objectives
The Caribbean Evaluation Space seeks to:
- Bring together professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders to share knowledge, best practices, and innovative approaches to increase effectiveness of evaluation.
- Foster collaboration, build and strengthen regional networks, promote the integration of robust evaluation (and M&E) frameworks, and to improve the wider impact of programmes and initiatives across various development sectors in the Caribbean.
