Summary of Evaluation Evidence: Lessons on Self-Reliance for Refugees in the Middle East, Northern Africa and Eastern Europe region Issued on 2025 by WFP

Protracted emergency situations often heighten negative effects on long-term food security and well-being, impacting women and young people in particular. However, they can also result in ‘donor fatigue’ with detrimental effects on resource mobilization. This summary presents key findings of evidence generated 11 commissioned independent evaluations, which cover the period 2018-2023 in the RBC Region, related to refugee self-reliance.
