EPE Opening Session - Panel Discussion with Directors of Evaluation of the UN's Rome-based Agencies

The opening session of UNEG EvalWeek 2026 will begin with brief recorded remarks from the UNEG Chair, setting the context for the week’s exchanges under the overarching theme "From Insight to Influence: the role of Evaluation in a Changing UN".

This will be followed by a high-level panel discussion reflecting on how evaluation functions are navigating a rapidly changing multilateral and development landscape, including increasing demands for accountability, learning, and evidence-informed decision-making amid fiscal and institutional constraints.

The session will explore how evaluation is adapting in practice, the strategic challenges and opportunities facing evaluation functions, and how system-wide learning and collaboration can help strengthen the relevance, credibility, and use of evaluation going forward.
