I hold a PhD in Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Ehime University, Japan. In addition, I hold a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Agronomy (Crop Science) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; and a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture from the University of Uyo, Nigeria. My field of expertise and work experience spans over 12 years of involvement in Plant biotechnology, molecular breeding, crop improvement, seed production and  agronomy research and development including Agricultural policy formulation, Projects planning, monitoring and evaluation, as well as extension service delivery to farmers. 

I'm a Research Scientist at the National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency, Abuja, Nigeria. I'm  a  Global Leadership Fellow of the Alliance  for Science hosted in BTI, Cornell University, USA. I am a 2022 Plantae Fellow of the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB). I have pioneered innovative extension programmes to train Nigerian farmers on improved rice cultivation technologies for yield optimisation via adoption of site-specific soil nutrient management technologies (SSNMT). I am also involved in science communication, policy and diplomacy around the world.
