Catherine Allen is a social development specialist with over 24 years’ experience applying her skills to a range of issues in the context of sustainability, poverty reduction and inclusive growth both in UK and overseas.  During her career, Catherine has worked with, and for, a range of stakeholders including; private companies, Government agencies, research and non-profit making organisations and many bilateral and multi-lateral donor agencies, such as the European Commission, World Bank, UN, DFID (UKAID) and USAID.  Catherine’s technical skills include: agriculture, livelihoods, climate change, social performance, value chains and markets, food security, stakeholder engagement, impact and risk assessment.  Catherine has a proven track record of the design and delivery of systematic, mixed-method evaluations and assessments, making effective use of both qualitative and quantitative data.  Within consultancy organisations and as an independent consultant, Catherine has proven herself to be practical, flexible, adaptable and creative in her approach.  She has the professionalism and inter-personal skills needed to lead, manage and coordinate multi-sectoral initiatives.
