Scott Chaplowe is an evaluation, strategy, and capacity development specialist with more than 30 years’ experience working with civic, public, and private organizations seeking sustainable solutions for social and environmental challenges. Prior jobs include Director of Evidence, Monitoring and Evaluation at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) and Senior Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Advisor with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Since 2020, Scott has consulted with a variety of organizations, including the development of M&E capacity development resources for the Adaptation Fund as well as the Climate Investment Funds. Currently, Scott serves on the Board of Trustees for the International Evaluation Academy, the American Evaluation Association's International Working Group, and EvalSDGs. www.ScottChaplowe.com

Scott’s work stresses participatory evaluation and pedagogy for adult learning, and complex systems analysis. He has conducted professional development workshops and e-learning in over 20 countries for organizations and professional associations such as EES, AEA, SAMEA, and ALNAP. Additionally, he has taught at universities in the United States, China, and Taiwan. Scott has authored numerous articles, books, and guidelines on evaluation and capacity development, notably the 430-page resource book, Monitoring and Evaluation Training: A Systematic Approach (2016, Sage Publications), co-authored with Brad Cousins.
