Dr. Nyagah K. Thomas is an accomplished Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) specialist with over 20 years of experience supporting international development programmes across Africa. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, he has successfully led and delivered baseline studies, mid-term reviews, end-of-project evaluations, impact assessments, research, organizational learning, and performance monitoring assignments across sectors including governance, climate change, humanitarian action, peacebuilding, gender equality, health, water and sanitation, livelihoods, youth empowerment, and civil society strengthening.

Dr. Thomas has provided consultancy services to leading international organizations including UNICEF, UNDP, UN Women, FAO, ILO, GIZ, International Alert, WIEGO, FEMNET, NIMD, ActionAid, Saferworld, Equal Access International, and CARE, among others. His work has supported programmes funded by USAID, FCDO, SIDA, the European Union, UN agencies, DRL, GEC, CSSF, IDRC, Open Society Foundation, and other major bilateral and multilateral donors.

His expertise spans mixed-methods research, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, results-based management, MEL system design, capacity strengthening, knowledge management, and adaptive programming. He is proficient in statistical and digital data collection platforms including SPSS, KoboCollect, SurveyCTO, and Epicollect, enabling the delivery of rigorous, evidence-based insights that strengthen programme performance and accountability.

In the past five years, Dr. Thomas has led numerous complex evaluations and research assignments across more than 20 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America, demonstrating the technical expertise, contextual understanding, and leadership required to deliver high-quality consulting services for governments, UN agencies, NGOs, and development partners.
