Una works as a senior evaluator for UN programmes, including leading large scale evaluations on institutional approaches, or multi-country projects for many agencies (IFAD. ILO, FAO, UNDP, UNIECF, UNECE). She has over twenty-seven years of international experience working on development issues with a strong track record of publishing. Having worked across a wide range of United Nations organisations, she focuses on topics such as migration, labour and gender across a range of sectors (agriculture, migration, environment, climate change etc).. Una recently re-joined the university sector to set up a new masters in International Development at the University of Galway, Ireland and is running a research project on climate change, migration and social protection. Una previously lectured at UCC and in two universities in Ethiopia. She began her career on socio-economic and gender issues with FAO in Asia and Africa and since then have incorporate a focus on social inclusion and social protection in all her work.
