Vicent Ssenyondo is a seasoned Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) specialist, statistician, and applied researcher with over nine years of experience advancing evidence use for sustainable development, climate-responsive programming, and public-sector decision-making. His work sits at the intersection of evaluation, data systems, environmental sustainability, and policy influence, with a strong focus on translating evidence into action for people and planet.
He currently serves as Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED), Government of Uganda, where he supports national programmes and reforms aligned to long-term development pathways, resilience building, and systems transformation. He is also an Associate Consultant and Lecturer at the Uganda Management Institute, where he builds the practical evaluation capacity of professionals working across climate change, natural resource management, social protection, and economic development sectors.
At the continental level, Vicent is the East Africa Regional Representative on the Africa Evaluation Association (AfrEA) Board and previously served as General Secretary of the Uganda Evaluation Association (2022–2025). Through these roles, he has championed Made-in-Africa evaluation approaches, context-responsive methodologies, and the integration of environmental and sustainability lenses into evaluation practice.
Vicent has trained over 7,000 evaluators across Africa and globally, equipping practitioners with practical skills in Power BI, STATA, SPSS, Advanced Excel, KoboToolbox, Tableau, NVivo, and QGIS. His technical strength lies in environmental and development data management, data analysis, and interactive dashboards, enabling stakeholders to visualize complex systems, track sustainability outcomes, and strengthen accountability for climate and environmental results.
His evaluation practice emphasizes:
