Beyond Quality: Influencing Evaluation Use in UN Organizations

Online
Organized By Use of Evaluation  UNEG Working Group
We are pleased to invite you to the first UNEG webinar of 2026 organized by the Use of Evaluation Working Group: “Beyond Quality: Influencing Evaluation Use in UN Organizations”.
Join us for a webinar on how evaluation findings can more effectively influence decision-making within organizations. Drawing on over three decades of professional experience and practical examples from UN-commissioned evaluations, our speaker Simon Lawry‑White will explore why evaluation use remains limited despite advances in norms, standards, and communication. The discussion will highlight practical ways to strengthen evaluation use, including understanding the status of evaluation within organizations, engaging evaluation clients around their goals, and building ownership of results from the outset.

Time: 09:00-10:00 (New York) / 15:00-16:00 (Geneva) / 17:00-18:00 (Nairobi) / 21:00-22:00 (Bangkok).

Speaker: Simon Lawry‑White, Director, Vine Management Consulting

This session will provide the following:
  • Insight into the hidden factors that drive or hinder evaluation use
  • Practical strategies for “managing out” and strengthening evaluator influence
  • Guidance on building trust, supporting clients, and enhancing ownership
