I am working on rural agricultural mechanization.
it is necessary to create a technology, not completely new, but deduced from a primary technology already used by the African farmers. Indeed, it is necessary to see in recent years which machine is used in rural areas and which can be powerful enough for field work by small farmers.
My remark is that, in my country (Niger) and even in the sub-region, medium tricycles of 12 to 18 horsepower are increasingly used in rural areas as a means of transport. Not the tricycle that is used in some cities as a means of taxi, but the truck tricycle or cargo tricycle that is used to carry up to 1500 kg. It is a mechanical power already available in rural areas and whose populations mastered the maintenance and the spare parts. For me, a machine for seasonal use is not a solution for smallholder farmers. Better a multi-purpose machine that can be used all year round.
My research is to apply the reverse engineering method to see how I can add tilling function to this tricycle.
