As Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist based in Hargiesa, I hereby put forward my expression of interest and CV. It is through 6 years of practical experience in Research, M&E and statistics with number of INGOs in multiple disciplines like, Education, water, Health, Livelihoods and Human rights combined with my academic knowledge in the subject, I pride myself to be best match for this Eval Group.
During my time in M&E, I gained solid experience in managing and supporting all M&E related activities from designing the M&E plans, executing them and reporting on results framework. I was a key person in program/ projects evaluation for effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability and compliance with donor and other government regulations. I was responsible in assisting project managers in compiling quarterly and annually donor reports, leading joint monitoring missions, capacity building for the program and partner staff on M&E and documentation of case studies, success stories and lessons learnt. I am specifically skilled in dealing with the M&E work for consortium projects which are co-implemented with other partners or those sub-granted to Local NGOs. This is a must-have experience for this post which I happen to have.
I am in addition, a motivated researcher and participated or led local teams in number of projects’ monitoring and verifications under third party (IBCTI, SORADI, Forcier and Smart Vision) in Somaliland and Puntland for many clients including DFID, EC, USAID, DANIDA and OCHA. I have undergone many trainings on M&E and Research methodology in Somalia and overseas which further strengthened my mastery in the subject. I am also trained in designing mobile-based data collection (ODK, KOBO, and ASKIA) and the GIS mapping using QGIS.
From the academic perspective, I have BA in Business Administration, BA in Community Development, and Higher Diploma in M& E. I am currently preparing MA in Development Studies from KIU (online) and MS in Leadership and Governance from the University of Hargiesa. I independently, individually carry out and publish academic research papers. Since 2014, I have published 4 academic papers on Education, Youth development and government’s service delivery. In a six years’ time I have grown from a simple assisting employee to a creative, enthusiastic, talented and self-starter M&E and research fellow thanks to personal efforts I put. With this background I am very much eager to serve with my skills and knowledge in a more dynamic setting with broader responsibilities.
