Senior MEL Specialist

Mr. Aminu Bichi is a Education and Skills research and evaluation Specialist. He has over 30 years’ experience in developing, managing, and implementing research, evaluation and monitoring programs and projects in Nigeria and other African countries. Bichi has over twenty-six years’ experience in leading the implementation of various Research and Evaluation (Including TVET) projects for donor organizations-USAID, FCDO, UNICEF, UNESCO, CIDA, EU, Adam Smith International, Save the Children International, Plan International, and World Bank Education Sector Analysis. He is skilled in program leadership and management, advocacy, and capacity building, with a solid understanding of conflict and crisis environments.  He has a strong skills and expertise in multi-method research approach, Experimental research designs, Qualitative research methods as well as results-based Research and evaluation approaches and methodology (RBM). He has published extensively in both local and international peer reviews.  

Mr Aminu has led conduct of studies and evaluations in Nigeria and other countries in Africa and pacific. He provided technical support to the Federal Ministries of Education for the development of Basic Education Information Management Information System (BEMIS), Non-Formal Education Information Management System (NFE-MIS), Technical and Vocational Education Training Management Information System (TVET-MIS). He led in the scoping of the FCDO Skills for prosperity intervention and development of key intervention areas. He is a seasoned teacher and trainer and has exceptional pedagogical and andragogical skills and is ICT literate at a professional level. He has the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely to technical and non- technical users.

Mr Aminu  has excellent communication and team-working skills, with the solid interpersonal and diplomatic skills. He is ICT literate at a professional level and extensively used statistical software-SPSS, STATA, E-Views, MTLAB, STISTICA, and MATHEMATICA. He has practical skills, Knowledge and experience of databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.); Knowledge and experience of electronic data collection and analysis tools such as dhis2, ODK, Commcare, Power BI, Tableau
