I am a senior evaluation, evidence, monitoring and learning professional with over 20 years of experience in humanitarian and development contexts across Africa, including more than 15 years with the United Nations World Food Programme as Head of Planning, Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation. My field and leadership experience spans Somalia, Ghana, Nigeria and Ethiopia, etc. with a strong focus on using evaluation, monitoring, research and learning to strengthen programme effectiveness, accountability and evidence-informed decision-making.

My evaluation experience covers decentralized evaluations, Country Strategic Plan reviews, thematic studies, management responses and evaluation quality assurance. I have managed different stages of the evaluation cycle, including development of terms of reference, consultant and evaluation-team coordination, stakeholder engagement, reference groups, quality assurance, dissemination of findings and follow-up of evaluation recommendations.

My technical interests include theory-based and mixed-methods evaluation, Theory of Change, results frameworks, food security and vulnerability assessment, resilience, agriculture and food systems, social protection, school feeding, humanitarian response, community feedback and accountability, and the humanitarian-development nexus. I also have extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative surveys, third-party monitoring, data quality assurance and translating evidence into recommendations for programme adaptation and strategic decision-making.

I am particularly interested in strengthening the connection between evaluation, organizational learning and decision-making, ensuring that evaluation findings move beyond reports to inform programme design, adaptation, accountability and policy dialogue
