1. PROFILE

I am a resolute and purposeful Programme Quality Management and Impact Evaluation professional with a robust background in program coordination, capacity building, and impact evaluation within the development sector.  My professional experience spans over 7 years of effectively facilitating and coordinating initiatives aimed at enhancing community empowerment, and program effectiveness. 

My strengths lie in my ability to conduct comprehensive needs assessments, develop tailored interventions, and monitor program outcomes using a range of evaluation methodologies. Skilled in program design, management, and evaluation, I have successfully implemented strategies to optimize program impact and foster sustainable change. I excel in fostering collaborative partnerships, whether with local communities, governmental agencies, or international organizations, to achieve common goals, positive social change, sustainable development and promote social justice.

2. WORK EXPERIENCE

April 2022- Present : Learning and Impact Coordinator -ActionAid International Kenya

Tasks/Achievements

  • I advise, support, and train partners, communities and their institutions on high quality programming and promote timely reporting of programme deliverables through regular monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning.
  • I develop and roll out tools for partners to improve the quality of programming at LRP level (assessment tools, programme quality tools, etc.).
  • I support with establishing measurable objectives, ongoing feedback, periodic reviews, and fair and unbiased evaluations; coaching, mentoring; recognition and rewarding for outstanding performance; documentation of performance that is less than satisfactory, with appropriate performance improvement plans.
  • I provide technical guidance on implementing the Global Platform Learning and Impact framework in close cooperation with the rest of the GP Trainer Team. This includes providing timely and consistent inputs to ensure all trainings follow GP Learning Principles and Training Management System (Six Steps) as well as monitoring and evaluating  the use of the Global Platform Training Management System in all courses delivered.

 

 

 

2022-July 2022: Capacity Building Consultant on Youth power Project ; SOS Children’s Village International Kenya

Key achievements/ tasks 

  • Strengthened youth networks and partnerships among and across national borders (Kenya, Zambia, Rwanda, The Kingdom of Eswatini, Angola, Mozambique, Somalia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Namibia, and Burundi) to contribute to meaningful youth engagement within the Youth Power Project.
  • Enhanced  the capacity of youth co-workers on fundraising, partnership/engagement, youth participation, Change making, social innovation, etc.
  • Advised on mechanisms for strengthening, evaluating, and refocusing the culture of youth participation in SOS programmes.
  • Supported with co-creation of joint planning and peer mentoring sessions to strengthen youth participation in the implementation of youth-led community initiatives within the framework of the Youth-Power program. 

January 2021- March 2022: Youth and Governance Facilitator -Global Platform Kenya

Key achievements/tasks 

  • Coordinated development, facilitation, and conducting impact evaluation of youth-led campaigns. 
  • Undertook comprehensive needs assessments in Local Rights Programme and among partners on transformative programming.   
  • Coordinated establishment and operationalization of youth hubs in 5 counties that served as youth-led spaces for young people to convene, strategize and act on social injustice.
  • Coordinated the Future for Youth project  that mobilized and organized young people to hold the government accountable in emergencies.
  • Served as one of the International Advisors on development and selection of evaluation indicators for the Global Youth Digital Engagement Project- supporting young people in using digital technology  to support achievement of sustainable development goals. 
  • Spearheaded harvesting and compilation of case studies and change stories from the youth chapters and shared them with the Training and Quality Coordinator and the Communication team for internal and external communication and reporting.

1st January 2019-December 2020: Global Contact Facilitator; Global Platform Kenya 

Key achievements/tasks 

  • Facilitated development of training manuals, course scripts and detailed evaluations of each course, leading to the improvement and enhancement of Training4Change’s courses and methodologies.
  • Produced relevant reports and shared with team and on online portals as well as updated data on various portals as required and within stipulated timeline.

Tasks/Achievements 

Key achievements/tasks 

  • Organized and facilitated  regular programmes Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), in collaboration with project team, partners and communities for quality control, documentation, and reporting.
  • Supported with continuous improvement of the programs through regular learning and accountability reflect cycles and sharing of outputs of the program findings with program staff and partners.

July-November 2015: County Youth Democracy Ambassador (Kilifi County) - Institute for Education in Democracy.

Key achievements/tasks 

  • Identified and tabulated barriers and opportunities to/for young people's participation in the social, economic, and political life in the devolved governance units.
  • Carried out Monitoring and evaluation of projects from the county government, national government and other agencies directed towards youth empowerment, developing reports from the monitoring and evaluation process, and sharing with the relevant national and county government departments for continuous learning and  improvement.
