Dhruba brings over 32 years of rich, hands-on expertise in evaluations and applied research, spanning a wide spectrum of critical development sectors across Asia, the Pacific, and the Caribbean. His work bridges thematic areas including: (i) energy transitions and renewable energy systems, (ii) climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies, (iii) biodiversity conservation, marine ecosystem governance, and sustainable land management, (iv) disaster risk reduction, resilience-building, and humanitarian action, including landmine and UXO (unexploded ordnance) (v) child-centered disaster risk reduction, school safety, and education, (vi) resilient livelihoods and inclusive economic empowerment, (vii) water and forest resource governance, (viii) health systems strengthening and public health policy, and (ix) a range of cross-cutting development priorities. With a portfolio of more than 300 evaluations/studies—delivered in partnership with UN agencies, multilateral and bilateral donors, international/national NGOs, and academic institutions—Dhruba has consistently demonstrated analytical depth, policy relevance, and practical foresight. His professional impact has earned him international recognition, including the prestigious International Prize under the International Climate Initiative/RARE (2017), the Adaptation-at-Scale Award from DfID (2016), and the UNDP Equator Prize for biodiversity and water conservation (2014). Further underscoring his credibility, Dhruba is listed on the UNDP Global Policy Network (GPN) Roster, affirming his role as a trusted expert within global evaluation and policy advisory circles.
