Md. Samsul Hussain Sadi is a dedicated Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) professional with over four years of progressive experience in the development and humanitarian sectors. Currently serving as MEAL & MIS Officer at Save the Children Bangladesh, Sadi brings specialized expertise in child protection, education, gender justice, and public health programming.

Current Role and Impact

In his current position at Save the Children, Sadi leads MEAL implementation for the transformative Oporajita – Collective Impact on the Future of Work project, a pioneering multi-partner initiative designed to prepare women garment workers for Bangladesh's evolving automated industrial landscape. Managing impact measurement systems for 11 consortium partners, he oversees comprehensive KPI tracking, partner performance evaluation, and outcome measurement frameworks that drive meaningful change in women's economic empowerment.

Sadi's technical expertise extends to the HIV/AIDS Global Fund program, where he provides critical MEAL support including data quality assurance, KPI tracking, and strategic coordination with national stakeholders such as ASP and UNAIDS. His role in designing and facilitating capacity-building workshops has strengthened monitoring and evaluation capabilities across consortium partners, fostering a culture of evidence-based decision-making and organizational learning.

Professional Journey

Sadi's career trajectory demonstrates a commitment to advancing social justice through rigorous monitoring and evaluation practices. At World Vision Bangladesh, he designed comprehensive MEAL frameworks and Indicator Performance Tracking Tables (IPTT) for high-impact projects including the Joining Forces Child Protection in Emergencies (JF-CPiE) and UNESCO Education initiatives. His work in Cox's Bazar included representing the Education & Protection Sector in ISCG coordination forums, where he contributed to Joint Response Plan indicator development while building capacity among project teams, partners, and subcontractors.

His experience at BRAC's Gender Justice & Diversity Programme as Deputy Manager of M&E and Organizational Development showcased his ability to integrate gender-responsive evaluation methodologies into program design and implementation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his role as MIS Officer at Partners in Health & Development demonstrated his adaptability and crisis response capabilities in developing robust indicator frameworks under challenging circumstances.

Technical Expertise and Innovation

Sadi's technical proficiency spans both quantitative and qualitative monitoring systems, with advanced capabilities in digital survey design using tools such as SPSS, Kobo Toolbox, Power BI, and comprehensive database management systems. His approach to MEAL framework design consistently integrates theory of change alignment with donor compliance requirements, ensuring that monitoring systems capture meaningful change while meeting accountability standards.

His research background includes significant contributions to understanding social vulnerabilities, having served as Research Assistant on projects examining social work practice in Bangladesh and health and livelihoods of waste pickers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he contributed to the development of the COVID-19 Sectoral Impact Heat Map Digest, providing crucial evidence for policy and program responses.

Beyond his technical expertise, Sadi has demonstrated leadership through various volunteer roles, including Campus Director for Hult Prize, Human Rights Fact Finder with ELCOP, and Fellow with Youth for Policy.
