Clearly, interventions aiming at changing the agriculture system are complex in nature. This complexity does reflect on their Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PME) systems. The aim of this practice note is to provide project and programme managers, donors, designers, and PME professionals working in innovation within agri-food systems, with key suggestions for engaging with such complexity in the processes of planning, monitoring, and evaluating their interventions. Five suggestions for addressing these complexities are presented together with tips for taking these on board in each of the PME system processes.
