Position:                                      Team Lead, Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning

Responsibilities:

Supported five (5) USAID/Ghana Economic Growth Office Implementing Partners with a total budget of 297,980,763 million dollars to manage their Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, Collaborating and Adaptation as required by USAID.

 

  • Provided leadership and technical guidance in MEL and Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA).
  • Designed and managed six (6) survey implementation for USAID Ghana Feed the Future projects.
  • Lead the conduct of two (2) routine data quality assessment of USAID standard indicators reported externally
  • Led the recruitment, and supervision of organizations and consultants contracted to implement special studies required for evaluating project effects and impacts.
  • Lead capacity building in MEL, CLA, health information systems, data collection, analysis, and use.
  • Collated reports METSS II Research Monitoring and Evaluation reports as required by USAID.
  • Contributed to Feed the Future zone of influence end line and baseline surveys.

 

July 2013 – Aug 2015                Ghana Essential Health Intervention Programme (GEHIP)

Responsibilities:

  • Designed and coordinated four (4) research studies, including proposal development, designing, and collecting maternal and child health, governance development, and political engagement data.
  • Coordinated the training of one hundred and thirty-seven (137) Community Health Nurses, District Health Directors, and community health volunteers on the GEHIP’s interventions.
  • Provided writing and editorial support to GEHIP’s Knowledge Management Team, in addition to authoring articles for newsletter series, manual series, reports, and additional dissemination products.   
  • Conducted direct monitoring and evaluation at facility and frontline levels, assessing practices related to family planning, antenatal care, skilled deliveries, and outpatient attendance, and assessing the status of facilities’ equipment.
  • Led the development, management and monitoring of budget for program interventions and site visits.
  • Supported the development of annual reports to donor.
  • Compiled and disseminated project learning toolkit, which is a compilation of the best practices and how they are implemented by the GEHIP.

Responsibilities:

  • Supported the design of the monitoring and evaluation strategy, including developing tools for data collection activities to come out with the impact and stakeholder perception of the program.
  • Directly trained field workers on how to conduct interviews, use the monitoring and evaluation tools, and use appropriate methods for community entry. This was for both quantitative and qualitative data collection.
  • Provided technical assistance for monitoring and evaluating activities of a large research project focused on assessing the views and perceptions of the direct beneficiaries of the Nutrition and Malaria Control Program.
  • Created a supervisory checklist and data entry template for use by data entry staff.
  • Provided technical assistance for the analysis of quantitative data collected using SPSS software and supported the writing and dissemination of research findings.
